Christmas pop-ups

Two pop-ups that I’m well excited about:

Miller Harris has opened a Xmas shop on Bruton St. There’s nothing better than the smells of Christmas – fig, cinnamon, orange…

They have lots of lovely pictures of their Christmas shop on their blog. Those candles in red boxes are irresistible.

We are delighted to announce the arrival of our new and exclusive Christmas store at 21 Bruton Street. From Saturday, November 3rd 2012

Plus Brit homeware brand Thornback & Peel has opened a pop-up furniture shop in Liberty. Their illustrations are really pretty – they’re quirky without being too twee. They have some beautiful gifts, such as a robin tea towel or a box of old school hankerchiefs printed with animal illustrations.

Go forth and shop! I’m sure gonna.

Shopping Nights

Retailers are really pushing the boat out when it comes to getting you to part with your cash this Christmas. This week Vogue has kicked off Online Fashion Week, plus I have recently written about Boxpark in Shoreditch on Twin and the Columbia Road late night openings, not to mention last week I went to the Seven Dials / Carnaby Street 20% off shopping evening where shoppers were plied with champagne and mince pies.

Well, it seems if it’s not online late night openings are where it’s at. Notting Hill is getting in on the action this Thursday. One of my new fave brands Paper London are there, offering discounts, music and booze! Others involved include Helmut Lang, Les Petits, Joseph, Sandro and Miller Harris. Christmas shopping panic

Don’t panic.

Rather then head to the hullabaloo of Oxford Street for your last-minute Christmas shopping why not try something different?

This evening Columbia Road and Ezra Street, the cobbled East End streets famed for the Sunday flower market, will be buzzing as the independent shops and galleries open up especially for a night of shopping.

Ok, ok, so it *might* get a little busy there too, but why face Oxford Street again when you can have a shufty around the independent boutiques, which are packed with hand-made treats rather than mass-produced tat?  Fortysomething shops, which usually only trade on Sundays alongside the market, will be open from 5pm until 9pm.

Pop along for unique gifts, live music and festive cheer.
