With another London Fashion Week behind us and the weekend before us, I’ve put together a few of my favourite songs which I heard on the catwalks.

LFW day 1 – Impressions & Highlights

Day 1 at LFW…

Janice Dickinson spotted front row at Paul Costelloe – the girls were in amazing metallic dresses and Sonia Rykiel hair (red, crimped and triangular).

Maria Grachvogel at the Savoy.  Gorgeous room – perfectly appropriate for a gorgeous collection.  Nina Porter opened the show.  The draping was masterful (as per) and the accessories were designed in collaboration with Erickson Beamon.  Divine much?

A closer look at the make-up:

Spotted outside on her way to a lot of castings:

Also spotted outside – Sasha aka LibertyLondonGirl plus her lovely associates Briony and Claire, minus one rather important driver…

I was also lucky enough to meet the lovely Georgina Langford aka Fashion Junior at Large to Melanie Rickey who had just come from the Orla Kiely presentation – check out her write-up on The Fashion Editor at Large blog.

At lunchtime we had quite the crush at Ada Zanditon‘s salon show where an ice sculpture, a video installation and static mannequins were enjoyed and ignored (too busy mingling!) by a rather large crowd of avant-garde fashionistas – not to mention the lovely Amber and Nisha, otherwise known as Broken Hearts DJs.  I had a lovely chat with Ada who divulged a wee secret – she’s probably more into science and architecture than fashion!  Oh well – somehow it works!

In the afternoon I was blown away by the Ones to Watch show including Kirsty Ward, Anja Mlakar, Tze Goh and Sara Bro-Jorgensen and Eudon Choi‘s show.  I’ll be posting a link to my write-ups soon.

Here are some snaps from Eudon Choi:

Masculine meets feminine/romantic utility.

After the show I had my make-up done by an AOFM make-up artist backstage at Jasper Garvida (big thanks to Lucy at Forward PR!) and then dashed to Bora Aksu where I got to chat to Marina from Marina and the Diamonds afterwards – I’m such a fan and am glad I managed to keep it together and act professionally.  (If you’re reading this now Marina, I didn’t get to tell you how much I love you!)

And lastly, thanks to hanging out with Miggy practically all day, I managed to swing a spare ticket to PPQ.  Life saver!

The big names turned out in force: Corinne Bailey Rae, Bip Ling, Kimberly Walsh, Julia Sarr Jamois, Paloma Faith and Clara Paget all sat front row – and those were only the glitterati that were in view…

The collection itself was brilliant.  Just check out twitter to see how many people are raving about the pigtails, cat hats and fabulous LBDs.  And all to a hip hop soundtrack.

What a day.
